MTV wants to remake the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
If it were anyone else besides MTV, I’d probably be marginally more interested. And really, it’s not as if there aren’t enough bad remakes of other classic flicks floating around.

I saw that the other day. It has me terrified. And they want to add new music? If they ruin this movie, I will make it my lasting mark on this planet to destroy MTV.

This one is a no brainer: Why?
If it’s grossed over $140 million at the box office since release, does such a thing really need a remake?
Digitally clean it up, remaster the sound, whatever ya gotta do, but a remake? Please just don’t.

Wasn’t it MTV that did the 25th anniversary special? It was quite good.

@Glenn Johnson (Fuzzface_63): Actually, I believe that was VH1, MTV’s increasingly ditzy little sister. Those two channels have devolved into something that is — for me — completely unwatchable: a vast wasteland of “reality” shows with half-witted brats and their celebrity ilk. That low-caliber programming is what troubles me when I hear MTV wants to remake the film.
