The Democratic National Convention officially kicks off today. The gavel comes down at 3:00 p.m. MT (5:00 p.m. ET) for a Call to Order. Michelle Obama — Would it be correct to call her the presumptive candidate for first lady? — is also slated to speak tonight.
At least two friends of mine (that I know of) are in Denver this week for the events. Sommer, my editor at DCist where I occasionally contribute, is covering the convention for the blog. DCist was selected as D.C.’s representative in the State Blogger Corps. Bo, whom I’ve known for a few years now on both a personal and professional level, is there representing Ohio as a delegate. I look forward to seeing their respective updates.
