Because the copier on my side of the office building was out of service, I ventured to the other side to use their copier, which gets some pretty heavy use. I found this sign above it.
I guess the copier is our office’s equivalent to the kite-eating tree.

It’s the phrase everyone seems to be talking about. During last night’s town hall style debate, Sen. John McCain referred to Sen. Barack Obama as “that one” while answering a question from moderator Tom Brokaw.
Brokaw: Should we fund a Manhattan-like project that develops a nuclear bomb to deal with global energy and alternative energy or should we fund 100,000 garages across America, the kind of industry and innovation that developed Silicon Valley?
McCain: I think pure research and development investment on the part of the United States government is certainly appropriate. I think once it gets into productive stages, that we ought to, obviously, turn it over to the private sector.
By the way, my friends, I know you grow a little weary with this back-and-forth. It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney.
You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me.

Beyond that, I found nothing particularly memorable about the debate. For the most part, I watched it on Current, because it was far more entertaining to see people’s comments pop up on the screen.
(And as for the picture above which I quickly cobbled together, come on. Tell me you didn’t see that reference coming.)
