Hi. My name is Fredo. And I have a new addiction. T-shirts.

I guess the first step is admitting you have a problem.

But in going through my closet recently, I discovered something. Most of my T-shirts are boring, especially the ones that essentially advertise for someone else. I decided to remedy that by acquiring newer, niftier T-shirts, as much on the cheap as possible. Woot has been most helpful with that. Threadless is right up there… when they have a sale.

Today, my RSS reader pointed me to cumul.us, a weather site that allows its users to predict the weather wherever they are. (Seattle is used by default, but isn’t it always 60°F and rainy there?) The site also allows users to share how they are dressed to deal with the weather. Today, I selected short sleeve shirt, light jacket, jeans and a hat.

Color me amused, though, when I noticed that Utilikilts were also an option.

Cumul.us scores points with me for that one, but it looks like there are a couple of kinks to work out with the site. Clicking “home” or the logo, for example, usually takes me to the default home of Seattle, instead of Washington, D.C., my preferred location.

Shorts are apparently now banned from my office. I’m not particularly thrilled about this myself (I’m prone to sweating out of context, like in a snowstorm; yes, it’s happened before. Don’t ask!) with a hot-n-sticky summer in D.C. approaching. I wonder how the other staff and interns will react — or if they will at all — to this sudden change in office culture.

I guess now it’s time to hunt for the elusive clothing species linenus pantus inmysizus (linen pants in my size); most khakis and jeans are too heavy for me to wear in summer. Ooh, or better yet those pants that can convert to shorts for those hot-n-sticky days I’ll be at both the office and the Fruit Stand. Now that I wouldn’t mind so much.

Let the shopping begin. CHARGE!!
