I saw this flier in a bus shelter at the Bethesda Metro station. Considering the aim is to recruit students who need to learn English, it strikes me as odd that the flier is written in English. Something tells me this school is doomed.

It’s been 10 years since I last sat in a classroom, but I’ll be doing just that for the next three days. My day job is sending me to a class on Adobe Flash.

I’ve only used Flash peripherally, mostly to customize a file that would allow me to display titles on a web site in a specific font.

When we relaunched our website a couple of months ago, we included a large promo box on the front page that uses Flash to rotate through four different features. I’ve designed a few different animations but could not implement them; my colleague, a programmer with Flash experience, has been doing it for us.

Flash is something I’ve been meaning to learn for a while, but I never really needed it until now.
