Leave it to the Japanese (or at least their division of Mozilla) to come up with the cutest Firefox mascot, like, EVAR — Foxkeh.
Just makes you wanna go, “AWWWWW,” doesn’t it?
Foxkeh is apparently friendly and curious, about the same age as a kindergarten boy, and he dreams of becoming the world’s greatest web browser.
Mozilla — the company that brought us the browser that plays second fiddle to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer — today released Firefox 3 and is foolishly attempting to break a world record for downloading a single application. (Such a record exists to begin with?!)
The release was supposed to be official at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. D.C. time), but alas, Mozilla’s site has been up and down for most of the last few hours. Yes, it looks like they’ve created their own denial of service attack… sort of.
Not only that, but going to GetFirefox.com — in those sparse instances one is able to load it, anyway — still brazenly advertises the benefits of Firefox 2.0.0.14.
